English 2P Composition/DDC (Period 1)

*Course Description

The sophomore English course focuses on rigorously strengthening students’ academic reading, writing, and speaking abilities aligned with the Common Core Standards. This course will utilize the state adopted tenth-grade textbook, selected core novels, and other forms of media (e.g., video clips, films, internet, etc.). Students will utilize and relate their social experiences and knowledge to that of social, political, and personal ideologies conveyed within literary and informational texts and other forms of media.
