Earth is a dynamic planet with a long and complex history. Understanding Earth is not an easy task because our planet is always changing. Earth Science is a one year course that studies Earth, and its neighbors in space, through the following related topics and fields:
- Earth’s place in the universe
- Dynamic Earth processes
- Energy in the Earth system
- Biogeochemical cycles
- The structure, function and composition of the atmosphere
- California geology
- Human impacts on Earth
