Course Description:
AP Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary course that provides students with scientific principles, concepts, and methodologies required to understand environmental issues. This course includes lab work and field trips including work on the GLOBE project. As part of my curriculum, my students are required to participate in the Tulare County Science and Engineering Fair. They may work individually or in pairs on a Science Research Project. The AP Environmental Science Test is taken in May; colleges may grant credit or advanced placement for a score of 3 or above on the AP test. Weighted Honors Credit is conditional upon taking the AP test. All students are expected to take the AP Environmental Test.
Prerequisites: Biology P and Chemistry P with a "C" or better.

Vocabulary quiz and Cookie Mining Lab are postponed until after Spring Break. You must have your research paper turned in on Tuesday and you must have your Science Fair board done by Friday morning. You may use Tue and Thu to complete these. If you are done early, get your vocabulary done (there are two sets now). Notebooks will be due after Break. Refer to the "Links" on my home page to find assignments from January and February on the old website.

Assignment
For those who completed a Science Fair project and turned in an acceptable formal paper on Tuesday, you will put together your Science Fair board on Thursday. I have included a link below for the handbook (I also uploaded it on this page). Refer to page 16 for rules and regulations pertaining to the display board. You can also model your board after any of the projects from past years that are on display in my classroom. Pages 18-22 outline the judging standards (which we have been working on throughout your projects). Good luck to all of you! Boards must be ready for transport and in my car by the end of the school day (12:45) Friday. Remember...this is 20% of this semester's grade! You are encouraged to participate at the STEM Expo Saturday March 14 from 8:30-3:00 at Lindsay High School. You will receive extra credit towards this project.
