Chemistry P (Period 7)

Course Description

 Chemistry P meets the UC/CSU requirements for a lab science, category D. Chemistry will introduce you to the study of the physical world by examining: Matter and Energy, Atoms and Moles, The Periodic Table, Ions and Ionic Compounds, Covalent Compounds, Chemical Equations and Reactions, Stoichiometry, and the Causes of Change. You will explore these concepts through textbook readings, online assignments, and hands-on laboratory activities.  Second semester you will study States of Matter and Intermolecular Forces, Gases, Solutions, Chemical Equilibrium, Acids and Bases, Reaction Rates, Oxidation, Reduction, and Electrochemistry, Nuclear Chemistry, Carbon and Organic Compounds, and Biological Chemistry. 
Prerequisites: You must successfully pass Integrated Math 1.
